Preparing for 2020: A discussion by Mr. Surath Singh

Senior Vice President and Head Business Development at Religare Arts Initiative Ltd

GUEST LECTURE BY Mr. SURATH SINGH

Mr. Surath Singh, alumnus from the batch of 99-01, shared his experiences & threw light on the opportunities & challenges that lie ahead in 2020 for India. He mentioned how the next 8 years are going to deliver more than what has been achieved in the last 2 decades, and how imperative it becomes for us to always be on our toes in order to grab, and even create, opportunities.

The discussion also veered on as to how companies need to take positive risks if they plan to succeed, and how people from different domains need to be aware of all other domains so as to understand the business environment & customer needs. Discussing his role as Sr. VP & Head Business Development at Religare Arts Initiative, he brought home the point of how Religare decided to focus on a segment which is still in its nascent stages in India and elucidated on the Indian Art Scene and its future prospects.

Expressing his feelings about coming back to his alma mater after a long time, Mr. Surath message for the students was:

“Let’s make some promises to ourselves about where we plan to see ourselves after 8 years, and then make a pledge that in 2020, all of us will congregate here on this very day and see where we actually stand.”
